Radio rage

A mobile phone ringing tone followed by a message received tone. You are driving on the M50 motorway. Nothing for it but to leave the motorway at the next junction and see who is calling. When you pull off and find a place to stop you discover that you have no missed calls or messages. The penny drops.

You had the radio on to RTE1 tuned to the Mooney show. This has an ad for their own show which has mobile phone ring tones in the background. In all, by the time you rejoin the motorway you have wasted 15 minutes. Thanks RTE.

An Interesting Omission

A recent article in The Irish Times by Peter Sutherland gave sage advice on what the Irish State must do. The article listed some of his many portfolios. But it omitted to mention that he was a main board director of Royal Bank of Scotland.
"Peter Sutherland is chairman of British Patroleum (sic) and Goldman Sachs International, the UK-based brokerage subsidiary of Goldman Sachs of New York. He is a former attorney general of Ireland, European commissioner and director general of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (now known as the World Trade Organisation"
Is he embarrassed as he was on the board which oversaw the financial adventures which brought the once great organisation to its knees?

Disclosure: I lost money on RBS shares
